Rather than backing a single company, the fund gives investors exposure to a portfolio of startups selected and managed by SoGal’s investment team. In November 2024, an Abundance Angel recommended a $25,000 equity investment in SoGal Ventures. The investment reflected an interest in expanding access to venture capital for founders who have historically faced barriers to funding, while also supporting a women-led firm working at the economy’s capital-allocation level. The fund participation was structured as a long-term, illiquid equity investment, with any return dependent on future portfolio performance and exits.
