Ready to make an impact in your community?

Opening an Angel Fund is the first step. Once your donor-advised fund is established and funded, you can begin participating in impact-first investment opportunities through Abundance Capital.

How to Get Started

1

OPEN YOUR ANGEL FUND

To get started, complete the online form to open your donor-advised fund (DAF) through Abundance Capital and select Angel Fund as your fund type.

A few things to know during setup:

  • Fund Advisor = you
  • Fund Name = your choice
(many Angels use a family name or something personally meaningful)

After submitting your application, you’ll receive:

  • A welcome email with access to the Angel Hub
  • A separate email to create your secure fund account login

The Angel Hub serves as the shared community space for Abundance Angels, while your fund account portal contains information specific to your individual fund.

2

FUND YOUR ACCOUNT

Once your Angel Fund is open, you can contribute charitable dollars in several ways:

  • Check
  • Grants from an existing donor-advised fund
  • ACH or wire transfer
  • Stock transfers
  • Credit card or bank draft

If transferring from another DAF or sending stock via ACH or wire, our team can guide you through the process. Important: Make sure you designate "Abundance Capital" as the sole recipient to streamline the transfer from another DAF.

Abundance Capital Fee Structure

Abundance Capital currently charges a 3% annual administrative fee, billed quarterly, on invested funds. These fees support the operations, reporting, compliance, and community experience connected to the Angel ecosystem.

3

RECOMMEND AN INVESTMENT

Once your fund is active and funded, you can begin recommending impact-first investment opportunities.

Angels may recommend opportunities connected to causes, organizations, businesses, funds, housing initiatives, or communities they care about. Opportunities can also emerge through the broader Abundance ecosystem and Angel community.

Investment recommendations are submitted through a simple online form. As part of the process, Angels identify a United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) connected to the opportunity’s intended impact.

Your Role as an Angel

Abundance Capital is the sponsoring 501(c)(3) organization and retains final approval authority over all grants and investments. Angels participate in an advisory role by recommending opportunities for consideration.

If investments generate returns, those charitable dollars remain in your Angel Fund and can be reinvested, granted to nonprofits, or transferred to another donor-advised fund.

Open an Angel Fund

Establish your own Donor-Advised Fund and direct deployment, sector focus, and impact priorities. Deploy returns if they cycle back into your fund.
